What is the Great British Insulation Scheme?

Launched in 2023, the GBIS (previously called ECO+) is designed to make home energy efficiency more affordable. It runs until March 2026 and is open to homeowners and private renters who meet certain eligibility requirements.

The scheme supports a wide range of insulation measures, including:

Cavity Wall Insulation keeps heat inside and prevents energy loss through your walls.

Loft Insulation upgrades existing insulation or installs fresh layers to the recommended 270mm standard.

Underfloor Insulation reduces draughts and heat loss through floors, with advanced robotic installation technology.

Who is Eligible?

You may qualify for GBIS if:

You are a homeowner or a private tenant with landlord permission, and

Your property is in council tax bands A to E with an EPC rating of D or lower, or

Someone in your household receives income-related benefits and your EPC is D or lower.

Additional costs may apply if scaffolding or special equipment is needed, but Enegex will always inform you upfront.
